In the latter type of patient, not only does the respiratory score improve but also the comfort of the patient with respiratory insufficiency of various etiology and allows to reduce the rate of intubation in children suffering from bronchitis.<br \/>\nAs reported in the literature: &#8220;The HFNC was initially designed to deliver a mixture of air and oxygen, heated and humidified, through the nasocannulas, at a flow higher than the patient&#8217;s inspiratory peak, so that it was not necessary, as in the systems with low flow, a further intake of air from the outside to adapt the flow delivered to the one required by the patient. Consequently, the only inspired oxygen mixture is the one coming from the nasocannulas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advantages of choosing high-flow therapy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After extubation, it helps the patient to regain quickly his respiratory autonomy<\/li>\n<li>It significantly improves oxygenation, respiratory rate and dyspnea<\/li>\n<li>Counterbalances the patient&#8217;s inspiratory demand<\/li>\n<li>It reduces the body&#8217;s metabolic work for gas conditioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The HFNC high-flow oxygen therapy option is economical and can be used in various clinical settings, such as the emergency room, semi-intensive and intensive care and recovery room.
